Catholic Diocese of Amarillo stewardship and development records, 1927-2002.

The bulk of the stewardship and development series consists of records relating to the United Catholic Appeal (UCA) including correspondence, copies of newspaper articles, pledges, and thank you letters; Diocese of Amarillo endowment fund campaign folders containing correspondence and a copy of a study analyzing the financial potential of the Diocese of Amarillo; records of the two overseeing bodies, the Diocesan Development Commission and the Office of Stewardship and Development, consist of correspondence, minutes, and copies of newspaper articles; program files relating to the 1980's stewardship program, which was the predecessor to the UCA and the endowment fund campaign; grant proposals; correspondence documenting the Trust Fund of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Amarillo and the Catholic Foundation of the Texas Panhandle. The John G. and Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation series consists mainly of grant requests and related correspondence by Diocese of Amarillo Bishops L.M. DeFalco, L.T. Matthiesen, and J.W. Yanta. The American Board of Catholic Missions series is comprised almost exclusively of grant requests and correspondence; small subject files on the Mexican Clinic and board of directors allocation meetings; Catholic Church Extension Society files contain extensive correspondence by the first three bishops of Amarillo (Rudolph A. Gerken, Robert E. Lucey, and Laurence J. Fitzsimon), financial data (subsidies, donations, mass stipends), subject files on lay volunteers (names of volunteers and assignment), donor index card file, and files on various awards.
